That was the message from last week’s annual meeting of the American Heart Association in New Orleans. Two major studies found vitamins E, C, B12, and folic acid all did exactly squat in preventing heart attacks, while Crestor, the last and most powerful statin, cut the rate of heart attacks and strokes by 50% and reduced overall death by 20% in men over 50 and women over 60 who scored high on a blood test that may indicate cardiovascular risk.

Why doesn’t everyone have the same reaction to aspartame that I did? Certainly I was ingesting about 8 packs of Crystal Light (as well as ingesting other products full of aspartame) which is probably more than the average person. Furthermore, many times the Crystal Light would sit in my car in the Florida heat and then I would put it back in the fridge and ingest it later…not good to heat aspartame from what I have read.
